Sports Injuries at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa is a
course to prepare students to further their
knowledge of sports injuries and their
subsequent treatment.
Year 1
Entry Requirements for Year 1: Students are accepted on their suitability to the course.

Entry Requirements for Year 2: Students must have achieved FETAC Level 5 / ITEC (UK)
Holistic Massage or equivalent.

- Business Planning
- Communications
ITEC Level 3 UK
- Level 3 Diploma in Sports Therapy Equipment
- Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage
SPECIAL FEATURES
The student will be trained in the skills of all
massage treatments, and advice on sports nutrition and rehabilitation exercises.
WORK SIMULATIONS
Students gain experience in the field of sports injuries, massage to treat sports injuries first hand, classes are comprised of a theoretical and practical basis.
2nd year students provide clinic facilities to college teams, students and staff one afternoon a week.

NCEF Conversion Course is expected to be offered to students who obtain the following criteria at a cost of €815 (May 2011 price).
CRITERIA: Successful completion of all three modules:
- Occupational First Aid
- Exercise and Fitness
- Anatomy and Physiology
PRIORITY will go to second year students.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Health clubs, studios, hotels, salons or self employed sports injuries therapists.
FURTHER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates may proceed to a variety of third level Colleges and Universities in Ireland and the UK. Many students have gone onto study physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation, sports medicine, sports science in the uk.
