DURATION
One year full-time.

INTRODUCTION

The chemical and pharmaceutical industry is a long established and constantly expanding industry. The ever increasing emphasis of environmental control on wastes and waste management has expanded the operations of these industries. The constant development and improvements in the processing and operating equipment results in a need for trained and experienced operatives, with a broad base skill level, to operate process equipment in the processing, environmental and laboratory areas of these industries.

SPECIAL FEATURES

The course is linked directly to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in the greater Cork area. Students will benefit from
(1) Guest Lecturers from specialist areas related to the course
(2) Visits to different industries.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Each student will get practical experience in the industry for the duration of the course. Employers and students can build up a
relationship which can lead to full-time employment or direct referral.

Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent. Mature students with relevant experience or interest also eligible. All candidates are
interviewed.
