DURATION
One year full-time. Continuation Course.
INTRODUCTION
A growing public awareness for our environment and surroundings
has brought about a greater demand for well designed and constructed
landscapes. This course is designed to develop students in the
skills of good Landscape Design, their construction and maintenance.
A wide range of supervised visits form an integral part of the
course including the National Gardens Exhibition, Commercial Nurseries,
Business Parks, Historic Gardens (Fota, Muckross), Scenic Landscapes
and Wildlife Habitats. We are committed to working with the Landscape
Industry and profession and this ensures that skills developed
are those necessary for this growing and challenging area.

SPECIAL FEATURES
The College provides excellent training facilities, comprising
of sixteen acres of grounds. We have a comprehensive library and
resources area for student use. Throughout the year Guest Speakers
are invited from different sectors of the Landscape Industry.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Students will have the opportunity to work in different sectors
of the Landscape Industry for 300 hours minimum. Practical work
is
organised at the College grounds and at outside sites.

Landscape Horticulture Degree at University College Dublin.
Specialist Amenity Horticulture Courses at HND level in UK Colleges.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
National Certificate - FETAC Level 5 in Horticulture or equivalent.
Practical experience in horticultural/landscape industry.
Selection through interview.
CERTIFICATION
National Certificate - FETAC (NCVA) Level 5 - Advanced
Certificate in General Horticulture.
Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)
City and Guilds Decorative Horticulture.
