One year full-time course

INTRODUCTION

The Greenkeeping and Sports Turf Management course prepares students for qualification at FETAC Level 6 Greenkeeping and City and Guilds Sports Turf Management, the universally recognised qualifications for Greenkeepers. The course is run in close association with leading golf courses and sports bodies in the Munster region. Practical skills training is supervised
by leading practitioners in the workplace and is complemented by classroom studies and experimental work carried out at the College.

SPECIAL RESOURCES

A number of Golf Clubs in the Cork area provide facilities and expertise for specialist on-site training, i.e. Fota Island, Cork Golf
Club, Muskerry, Harbour Point and Kinsale.

WORK EXPERIENCE

The Greenkeeping trainee receives an average of 500 hours practical work experience integrated with their educational programme. Each of the practical tutors are themselves fully qualified Head Greenkeepers-Superintendents.
