Applications are actively encouraged from the following individuals:

  • Leaving Certificate School Leavers (including LCVP and LCA)
  • Applicants currently unemployed (some of whom may be eligible for V.T.O.S.
  • Adult or mature students wishing to return to education
  • Graduates seeking to upgrade their skills

Applications are invited any time up to the end of August. However, it is advisable to apply before mid-August to ensure places are still available on the course. All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September. Application forms are available through the College office or you may apply directly using our online application form.

NO TUITION FEES

All courses at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, College of Further Education are assisted by the European Social Fund and consequently, there are NO TUITION FEES for EU nationals. The only monies payable are those charged by the variety of external examination bodies and, in some instances, the fee for membership to a professional organisation, and other items of personal equipment. There is also a standard charge towards student services, internet use, photocopying and college I.D.

GRANTS

Further education (PLC) students will be eligible to receive PLC maintenance grants equivalent to higher education grants. These are means tested and if eligible the amount of the grant is dependant on the distance students travel from their place of residence to the college.

2004/2007 RATES

If student lives within 15 miles of the College the student will be entitled to:
Full Maintenance adjacent rate €1180
Part Maintenance adjacent rate €590


If student lives outside 15 miles radius of the College the student will be entitled to:

Full Maintenance non-adjacent rate €2945
Part Maintenance non-adjacent rate €1475
