Using Webmail to access your CSN E-mail Account
If you don't have access to a computer and/or you do not want to use an email client like MS Outlook, you can still access your CSN email via the college’s on-line ‘WebMail’ interface. To do this navigate to the following website:
http://webmail.csn.ie
Simply entering this URL into the browser's address bar will present you with the following dialog box:
To access your email you will first need to authenticate your details via this dialog screen. In the textbox marked 'User Name', enter your full CSN e-mail account username. For example, if your name is 'John Smith' your CSN email account username would be j.smith@csn.ie. You must then provide your password in the relevant password textbox. Once you have done this you will be presented with the following screen:
At this point it would be prudent to change your *default* access password to a more secure password. Remember, this is your CSN email account so please choose your new password carefully! To change your password click the 'Change Password' icon as highlighted below:
Once you have clicked the 'Change Password' icon you will be brought to the following screen:
Simply enter your new password twice and click the Change Password button to effect the changes. If all is well you will receive immediate confirmation that your password has been changed. Click on the Go Back link to return to the email login client page.
Now that you have logged in successfully and changed your password, you can choose any of three separate webmail clients to read your email, i.e., Horde, SquirrelMail or RoundCube. Any of these email clients will work and it is up to you to choose which one you want to use. For simplicity of use we recommend using RoundCube.
Simply click on the relevant link, i.e., ‘Read Mail Using RoundCube’ to access your inbox. Once you do this you will be brought to a screen similar to the one shown below:
You can now use the email client to read, create and send emails!
If you require further assistance in using any of the webmail programs (including RoundCube) please navigate to the website below for a number of easy to follow video tutorials: http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/video/applications.htm?id=17
