DURATION
One year full-time (with option of progressing
to Electronic Technology Level 6 in second year).
INTRODUCTION
CSN is offering this course in response to the skills shortage
in the Electronics area of industry. The course aims to educate
and train students in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with
emphasis on the requirements of industry. The course prepares
students for direct employment in an engineering industry or entry
to third level education.

SPECIAL FEATURES
This course is a practical course with an emphasis on “hands-on”
learning by doing. The college has a well equipped Physics/Electronics
laboratory with up-to-date high tech equipment such as oscilloscopes,
signal generators, meters, copper etching apparatus and photo
resist equipment. Our Information Technology room includes 20
CAD stations with access to plotters and printers.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Supervised work experience in a electronic based industry is
an intrinsic feature of the course.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Maintenance Technician, Draughting CAD, Design Technicians,
Technical Sales Support in Manufacturing Industries, Computer
Manufacturers and Service.

FURTHER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Second year option in Electronic technology Level 6 (directly
linked to C.I.T.) subject to successful completion of first year
and adequate applications.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Generally Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Each applicant
will be interviewed and places will be awarded on suitable.
