DURATION
One year full time.
INTRODUCTION
This is a one year course designed to introduce students to
a wide variety of media genre. Much of the course is project based
and it is essential that students become aware of the need for
time management and of working closely with each of their teachers.

- Fully equipped digital radio studio
- Computer Suite
WORK EXPERIENCE
All students participate in either work placement or work practice
during the year. Students may find themselves working in the areas
of broadcasting, local/national newspapers.
CAREER PROSPECTS IN MEDIA PRODUCTION
Work in print, radio and television journalism, public relations,
advertising. Former students have secured positions at Reuters
(London), Sunday Times, Head of I.R.N. (Dublin), 103FM, Limerick Leader, 96FM., Red FM., RTE, The Irish Examiner,
The Evening Echo and The Kingdom.

FURTHER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates may be eligible to apply to higher education courses through the Higher Education Links Scheme, e.g. B.A. Degree, U.C.C., and B.A. in Communications, B.A. in Journalism, D.C.U.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent. Successful
applicants will have displayed a noticeable flair for English
and a lively interest in current affairs. Academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants.
