DURATION
One year full-time.

INTRODUCTION

Creative Textiles is a 1 year course that provides excellent tuition for those with a keen interest in the diversity of materials and techniques associated with textiles. This multi-disciplinary course provides students with a wide range of skills to explore, experiment, and create. Strong emphasis is placed on a contemporary and innovative approach to produce versatile artists and designers. The range of subjects experienced by each student, promote creative expression, as well as facilitating a professional approach and attitude. Practical Projects in the areas of Fashion, Interiors and Fine Art Textiles inspire confidence and hands-on-experience before final self-directed work.

SECOND YEAR

Students who have successfully completed Level 6, have the option of progressing to the Higher Professional Diploma in Creative Arts >>.

• Drawing
• Design
• Colour and dye
• Printed textiles
• Fabric manipulation and stitch
• Sales presentation for the Arts Sector.
• Communications for the Arts Sector.
• Marketing for the Arts Sector.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A FETAC Level 5 Award in Art. Applicants will undergo an interview process with a portfolio of recent work. The academic requirement may be waved for mature applicants with relevant experience. 

CERTIFICATION

• FETAC Level 6 Award.
• Level 4 City and Guilds Higher Professional Diploma, Creative Arts.
