INTRODUCTION

Creative Textiles is a 1 year course that provides excellent tuition for those with a keen interest in the diversity of materials and techniques associated with textiles. This multi-disciplinary course provides students with a wide range of skills to explore, experiment, and create. Strong emphasis is placed on a contemporary and innovative approach to produce versatile artists and designers. The range of subjects experienced by each student, promote creative expression, as well as facilitating a professional approach and attitude. Practical Projects in the areas of Fashion, Interiors and Fine Art Textiles inspire confidence and hands-on-experience before final self-directed work.

• Drawing

• Fabric manipulation and stitch
• Sales presentation for the Arts Sector.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Students will emerge with the necessary skills and body of work required, for entry into third level courses in N.C.A.D., C.C.A.D., L.I.T and UK colleges. Career prospects in areas such as Decorative Design, Fashion, Textiles, Display, Design Production, Accessories.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A FETAC Level 5 Award in Art or equivalent. Applicants will undergo an interview process with a portfolio of recent work.

CERTIFICATION

• FETAC Level 6 Award.
